About Us

Building Nepal’s technical workforce

The Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTEVT), established in 1989 (2045 BS), is Nepal’s national autonomous apex body for the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) sector. It leads policy formulation, quality control, competency-based curriculum design, occupational skill standards, and skills testing, alongside research and training-needs assessments.

Following the 2015 constitution and Nepal’s division into seven provinces, CTEVT established provincial offices across the country. The Lumbini Province Office was set up in Butwal in 2019 and now serves Arghakhanchi, Banke, Bardiya, Dang, Eastern Rukum, Gulmi, Kapilvastu, Parasi, Palpa, Pyuthan, Rolpa and Rupandehi districts.

It is my great pleasure to welcome you to the Lumbini Province Office of the Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training.

Our office is responsible for TVET policy formulation and program implementation across Lumbini Province. Technical and vocational education links learning with skill, skill with labour, labour with employment, employment with income, income with capital, and capital with investment — contributing directly to economic growth and to building a prosperous nation. Because of this, the quality and relevance of every technical and vocational training programme remains our foremost priority.

Skilling Lumbini Province for people’s prosperity is our vision, and smart, good governance for the convenience of our clients is our guiding principle.

Finally, the CTEVT Lumbini Province Office looks forward to continued cooperation and support from our constituent bodies, training institutions, partners, private organisations and all other stakeholders as we work to build an effective and efficient TVET system across the province.
